Big Daddys was founded in 2014 by Texas grill master Duante Washington.

Duante’s interest in barbeque started at a young age at with neighborhood cookouts in his hometown of Prairie View, Texas. His talent for barbeque and quality of his generations old family recipes was quickly recognized and he opened his first barbeque trailer in 2005.

Within months the word was out and crowds would line for hours to taste his food. His recipes and techniques were a smash hit and he bought five more trailers to serve the greater Houston area with his trademark sticky honey ribs, charcoal brisket and pulled pork.

Duante emigrated to Adelaide, Australia in 2013 and used his profits from his barbeque trailers to buy and refurbish a restaurant location which became Big Daddys. The restaurant seats over 100 customers and the interior is decorated in authentic American décor imported from Texas by Duante himself.
